Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Awards Dinner

This evening I had the pleasure of DJing the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Awards banquet. Students and faculty from both the Piscataway and Camden campuses were in attendance. Congratulations to the students for their upcoming commencement! The banquet was held this year at the Westin at Forrestal Village in Princeton, NJ. Former locations for the event include The Imperia in Somerset, and the Hyatt, New Brunswick. This was my sixth year in a row to play music for this fine event!

I provided music for the outdoors cocktail hour (what a beautiful day it was), and for the dinner banquet in the Westin's largest ballroom. For the numerous awards, I played short excerpts as guests walked up to collect their prize, sticking primarily to classical and movie themes. During dinner, I played the Dean's and professors' preferred Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble and Chris Botti, as well as some piano music. Once dessert was completed, the lights were dimmed and I quickly built up a dancefloor. Key tracks included Nothin' on You (B.o.B.), Snake Charmer (DJ Rekha mix), Carry Out (Timbaland & Timberlake), and You are the Best Thing (Ray LaMontagne).

Importantly, I debuted my new Facied facade. This product is a four-panel facade with white lycra paneling that can be backlit using LED par cans, for a dazzling, South Beach-style effect! (see photos below). I backlit the Facied in alternating blue and red, and then used uplighting for the back wall, using blue. For more information about the Facied facade, visit Steve Cie's blog at http://www.stevecie.com/blog/?tag=facied The crafstmanship is amazing, and Steve Cie will treat you right!
